Williams Named NESCAC Women's Golfer of the Week (Oct. 7th)

| By:
HADLEY, Mass. – The New England Small College Athletic Conference office announced first-year Zorah Williams as the NESCAC Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, Oct. 7th following the two-round tournament played over two days (Saturday, Oct. 3rd-Sunday, Oct. 4th) in Ridgefield, CT. at the Wesleyan Fall Invitational hosted by Wesleyan University.

The NESCAC Men's and Women's Golfers of the Week will be announced throughout the fall and spring golf seasons. The golfers of the week are nominated and voted on by the NESCAC men's and women's golf coaches.

Williams was the individually medalist shooting rounds of 69-71 (-1). Williams' tournament was highlighted by nine birdies, with five in the final round. The Bantams placed 7th in the 36-hole, 12-team event.

Williams's stellar play over the weekend marked a career second-best of five birdies in a single round, her best was six after round 2 at the Polar Bear Shootout hosted by Bowdoin College to begin the fall season. Her victory marks another milestone for the young Trinity women's golf program. CC Kaplan became the program's first individual tournament medalist in April 2026, winning the UHart/Trinity Invitational with a 149 (+5) after rounds of 71 and 78. Williams took that mark a step further this weekend, opening with a two-under 69 before finishing the entire 36-hole tournament under par at 140 (-1).

The Trinity Women's Golf team has put together a competitive season recording high team finishes than they have posted in previous years, including a tied-fourth place mark in the Williams Invitational, marking the highest finish in a 15-team field in program history.

Trinity and Williams look to continue their strong play in the final invitational of the fall season at the two-round Sap Bucket Invitational hosted by Middlebury College at Ekwanok Country Club. The Bantams will be competing against Middlebury, Hamilton and Williams on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
