CLINTON, N.Y. – The top-ranked Trinity College men's squash team captured its 19th consecutive New England Small College Athletic Conference Championship, storming through the bracket with a commanding 24–3 weekend.
The Bantams opened Saturday by grounding host Hamilton College, 7–2, in the quarterfinals. Sunday brought no letup. Trinity swept past Colby College, 9–0, in the semifinals before punctuating the run with an emphatic 8–1 triumph over No. 2 Tufts University in the title match.
How It Happened
Seven Bantams were perfect on the weekend, each posting 3–0 records to power the championship charge: Joachim Chuah, Benedek Takacs, Wa-Sern Low, Segundo Portabales, Eyad Awad, Javier Romo Lopez, and Andrik Lim. Takacs delivered the clincher on Sunday evening, securing Trinity's fifth point against the Jumbos and officially locking in yet another banner.
Senior Daniel Simon added a pair of victories with a 2–0 showing, while Zain Amjad split his matches. Junior Graham Roberts and sophomore Charlie Mullin each competed in the quarterfinal round versus Hamilton.
