Sensoy 3rd, Ebrahimi 4th at NEWA Futures Tournament

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Trinity College Men's Wrestling team combined to collect 18 victories, including third- and fourth-place finishes, during the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Futures Tournament, hosted by the United States Coast Guard Academy Sunday afternoon.
 
What Happened:
  • At 285, Emre Sensoy finished third overall with a 3-1 record, including a pair of pinfall victories. Nicholas Ebrahimi grabbed two pinfall victories before falling to Sensoy in the third-place match.
  • At 174, Liam Meeker notched a 3-2 record with two wins by pinfall and another by decision (11-6).
  • At 149, Durkin Stankevich went 2-2 by pinfall (4:07) and technical fall (18-3), while Lucas Weinstein and Nolan Sharp each picked up a win.
  • Cord Vallis tallied wins by major decision (18-5) and pinfall (4:41) at 133, Kennedy grabbed a decision victory (10-3) at 157, and Liam Holden added a decision win (9-3) at 165.
  • At 184, Liam Boyle and Sebastian Hiller each posted a victory for the Bantams.
 
Up Next:
  • The Bantams will be back in action for the 2026 Division III Northeast Regional Championships at the United States Coast Guard Academy from February 28 to March 1.
