HARTFORD, Conn. – For the first time in three seasons, Trinity College will be represented at the NCAA Division III Wrestling National Championships at Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa from March 13-14. Sophomore
Ty Trickle (Phoenix, Ariz.) will sport the Blue & Gold in the 141-pound bracket during the two-day event.
Trickle makes his first trip to the NCAA Division III Wrestling National Championships after placing third overall in NCAA Division III New England Regionals with a 5-1 run. Trickle fell just shy during his debut season, taking sixth in the 141-pound bracket last season. The sophomore is currently ranked third in the NWCA regional rankings with a 22-8 record on the season.
Trickle will square off with senior Cole Becker of Augsburg University in the Championship Prelims. Becker is making his second straight National Tournament appearance after capturing the Regional Championship. Becker owns a 96-21 career record, including a 27-6 mark during the 2025-26 campaign. The winner of the match will face off with top-seeded Mark Samuel of Roanoke College.
