CLERMONT, Fla. – After a mid-game rain delay, the Bantams completed their matchup against Franklin & Marshall Monday morning at Hancock Ballpark, falling 2–1 in the final.

Trinity's second game of the day was suspended just before the first out was recorded due to severe weather in the area. Stadium officials ultimately called the game and suspended play for the remainder of the evening.

Game 1: Trinity 1, Franklin & Marshall 2

  • Franklin & Marshall struck first in the bottom of the second inning when Grace Header lifted a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Lauren Steiner, who had reached third after opening the inning with a triple.
  • With two outs in the top of the fourth, a pop-up thunderstorm forced an hour-long rain delay. When play resumed, the Diplomats maintained their 1–0 advantage entering the fifth inning.
  • Makenna True sparked the Bantams in the top of the fifth, driving the second pitch she saw deep down the right field line. Heather Roth later grounded out to the pitcher for a sacrifice, allowing True to cross home plate and tie the game at 1–1.
  • Franklin & Marshall regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning after a walk and stolen base created a scoring opportunity. Morgan Risnychok came home on an error at second base to give the Diplomats the 2–1 edge.
  • The Bantams were unable to generate offense in their final two at-bats, going down in order in both innings to seal the narrow defeat.
