COVENTRY, Conn. — The Trinity College women's rowing kicked off their spring season in 25 degree weather on Saturday morning in Coventry Connecticut against against UConn and Bryant hosted by the Uconn Huskies on Coventry Lake.
"For our team, it was a solid start to the season for us. Our expectations going into this race were to focus on our own racing knowing that it's early in the season and we've all had limited water time to this point. Each of our boats executed their race plans well and rowed their hearts out regardless of the match up on the water." Commented Head Coach Peter Graves on the day of racing.

Their time got them second place against the Huskies (7:12.90), but out rowed Bryant's crews time in the second varsity 8's race earlier that morning (8:48.40).
From the Dock with Coach Graves:
"In the Varsity 4's and the 3v8+, we ended up being a bit outmatched compared to the depth of the D1 UCONN team, but we raced it up as fast as we could and stuck to our race plan. A really important racing characteristic to me is how a team rows when they are down. All of our boats stayed on the gas, stayed sharp throughout the entire, and charged to the line- up. That's the biggest victory in my book for the day. I am excited for the team , but no matter what the results were- win or lose- it's back to work on Monday. Upward and onward!"
