NEW LONDON, Conn.– The Trinity College men's and women's track and field teams delivered a series of strong performances across a busy weekend of competition.
The first day of the Silfen Invitational consisted of day one of the decathlon, multiple field events, and multiple top seeded distance events. Bantams saw multiple PR's across various events, including a 17:08 5k school record for junior Paige Jaenicke!
Jaenicke broke Trinity's oldest school record for the women's track & field team, a 17:17 outdoor 5k set by Elizabeth Amrien dating back to 1983.
The Bantams registered six first place finishes on the weekend. On the men's side, senior Zuri Johnson won both the Men's 400m and 200m dashes, junior Donovan Koukal-Kollie placed first in the triple jump, and sophomore transfer Tim Hamilton won 3k steeplechase. On the women's side, first-year Olivia Carney continued success on the track with a first place time of 25.07 in the women's 200m dash.

Field Events
- Junior Noah Falvey claimed 5th place out of 26 competitors in the discus throw, landing a mark of 40.94 for his best toss on his first throw of the day. Junior Pete Passaro finished 15th with a best mark of 34.75.
- In the men's hammer throw, junior Adnrew Williams launched a 43.44 mark to secure 8th out of 29 throwers. Falvey took 12th with a mark of 40.42, while Passaro landed in 13th at 38.82.
- First-year Katie Lemke performed strongly in the women's discus with a commanding 31.25 mark for a bronze finish in a field of 43 throwers.
- First-year Cailtin Lennox finished 12th in the women's pole vault.
- Men's Long jump saw a sixth place finish from first-year Elijah Mendese flying to a 6.28 mark sixth jump. Sophomore Joey Cucciniello finished 12th.

Field Events:
- The Bantams saw three athletes compete in the Men's Decathlon - Senior Emanuele Chiappinelli, sophomore Ryan Martin, and sophomore Davis Wheat. Chiappinelli finished sixth out of 10 athletes in the Decathlon with first place finishes in the shot put and javelin throw. Closely behind Chiappinelli followed Martin in seventh, while Wheat stepped out of competition in 7 of the 10 events.
- On the javelin runway Bantams were represented by sophomores Jordan Meirowitz and Lauren Grattan and first-year Haley Bilodeau. For the men, Meirowitz finished fifth out of 27 throwers with a mark of 51.96. In the women's final Bilodeau earned silver with a fourth attempt mark of 39.07, while Grattan finished 13th.
- Junior Donovan Koukal-Kollie won gold in the triple jump, landing at 14.35 on his first jump to claim the win. First-year Cailtin Lennox made top-ten for the women's triple jump as well.
- In the women's high jump, Grattan jumped into a third place finish followed by Gabrieanne Chery claiming 5th.

- First-year Haley Bilodeau finished bronze clocking a time of 15.72, while sophomores Katie Tran (15.89) and Phoebe Kinnell (16.27) took 5th and 6th. All three athletes hit PRs in the hurdle final.

The annual Trinity Invitational will be held on Saturday, April 18th beginning at 10AM. Family and friends of Trinity Track & Field are invited to the family and alumni tailgate located near the hammer cage during the meet.
