Mendese, 4x400 Relay Pace Field at Trinity Invitational

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Men's Track and Field squad delivered 17 top ten finishes, including a pair of first-place victories, at the 2026 Trinity College Invitational Saturday afternoon.
 
What Happened:
  • Eli Mendese won the long jump event with a leap of 6.56 meters and added a seventh-place finish in the high jump at 1.82 meters.
  • The Bantams 4x400 meter relay team of Charlie Young, James Lyon, Liam Kelly and Zuri Johnson led the field with a time of 3:22.81. The 4x100 meter relay squad of Arinze Okigbo, Johnson, Young and Kelly placed third at 42.15.
  • Johnson placed second in the 400-meter dash (48.08) and fourth in the 200 meter dash (21.77), while Okigbo grabbed third in the 100 meter dash at 11.08.
  • Noah Falvey finished second in the discus with a toss of 44.60 meters, and Donovan Koukal-Kollie took second in the triple jump at 14.00 meters.
  • Jordan Meirowitz placed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 50.05 meters, Matthew Berry was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (16.43), Ryan Miller took sixth in the pole vault (4.15m) and Andrew Williams finished seventh in the hammer throw (46.87m).
  • Kelly raced to a seventh-place finish in the 200-meter dash (22.40) and a tenth-place finish in the 400 meter dash (49.87). Pete Passaro took eighth in the shot put at 13.26 meters and Manny Chiappinelli III finished tenth in the pole vault at 3.55 meters.

  • The Bantams will be back in action for the 2026 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships at Williams College on April 25-26.
