HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Men's Tennis team fell to Bowdoin College, 7-0, and Colby College, 4-2, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) road trip over the weekend.
What Happened:
- Against Bowdoin, the Polar Bears grabbed a 1-0 lead after doubles play. Brandon Felcher and Mark Pope fell 6-2 at the No. 1 doubles spot, while Luca Garbati and Max Golubenko suffered a 6-2 loss at #2 and Andrew Nelson and Thompson Brown battled to a 6-4 defeat at #3.
- Garbati took the opening set in the #1 singles, 6-0, before dropping the final two frames, 6-1, 6-2. Golubenko also won the opening set at #3, but also fell in set two and three.
- At the #2 singles, Maxim Kauffmann rallied from a first set defeat (6-1) to win the second set, 6-2, but fell, 6-1, in the final set.
- Buoro and Nelson both lost in two sets at #4 and #5, while Keyon'dre Clark took the middle set of three at #6.
- Against Colby, the Mules secured a 1-0 lead after sweeping doubles play with a trio of 6-4 wins.
- The Bantams grabbed points in singles play as Golubenko gathered a 6-2, 7-5 victory at #4, along with a 6-2, 6-3 victory from Brown at #6.
