MEDFORD, MA – The Trinity College men's tennis team fell to host Tufts University, 7-0, Saturday afternoon. The Bantams dropped their match as Tufts completed a sweep across both doubles and singles play.
Trinity battled in doubles action, highlighted by a narrow defeat at the top spot as the Bantams Brandon Felcher and John Pope came up just short, 7-5. The remaining doubles courts finished 6-3 and 6-2 in favor of Tufts, giving the hosts an early 1-0 lead heading into singles competition.
In singles play, Trinity found its most competitive match at the No. 2 position, where Pope pushed a tight first set before falling 7-5, 6-3. The No. 1 singles match also featured competitive stretches by Luca Garbati and Tufts Djokic Andrej, ending 6-3, 6-2. Despite the effort, Tufts proved strong throughout the lineup, taking the remaining courts in straight sets to secure the sweep.
