EAST HADDAM, Conn. – The Bantams finished T4th at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) 2026 Men's Golf Championship, hosted by Trinity College at Fox Hopyard Golf Club in East Haddam, Connecticut. The championship ran from Friday, April 24, through Sunday, April 26, with 18 holes played each day.
Williams College claimed the team title, finishing 26-over par for the tournament. The Ephs also produced the top two individual medalists: Nick Smith (71, 70, 72) finished even par, while Jack Estrella (75, 73, 68) carded a three-over total.
Trinity's lineup featured senior Spencer Korona, junior Thomas Chalfant, sophomores Aidan Monahan and Charlie Mullen, and first-year Parker Kroll.
Fox Hopyard Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 course measuring 6,912 yards.
What Happened:
Day One: The opening round featured strong winds and temperatures in the high 40s under clear blue skies. Trinity sat tied for third place out of 10 teams with a score of 308. Bantams Charlie Mullen and Aidan Monahan led the team, each carding a 75 (+4).
Day Two: Similar 40-degree conditions persisted before turning cold and rainy for the final groups. The Bantams held onto third place with a team score of 294. Thomas Chalfant shot even par to climb the individual leaderboard, while Parker Kroll recorded his best round of the weekend at two-over par, highlighted by two birdies.
Day Three: Trinity posted its highest team round of the weekend, dropping to fifth place overall. Mullen carded a 75 (4-over par) finishing 9th, while Monahan shot five-over on the day, finishing the championship at 13-over par 11th individually.
Chalfant placed 17th overall (80, 71, 71), finishing 16-over par, while Korona finished 21st (78, 77, 77). Kroll rounded out the scoring for Trinity with a 23rd-place finish (80, 73, 80).
The Bantams finished 56-over tied with #46 nationally ranked Amherst College.
