HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bantams and the University of Hartford men's golf team hosted the annual UHart/Trinity Invitational at Keney Park Golf Course in Hartford, Connecticut this past weekend, with round one on Saturday, April 4, and round two on Sunday, April 5.
Trinity had two groups competing this weekend: Trinity A – Charlie Mullin, Thomas Chalfant, Spencer Korona, Henry Reilly, and Julian Ragosa – and Trinity B – Brian Campbell, Mason Bowie, Aidan Monahan, Parker Kroll, Ian Aitkenhead, Joey Hoffman, Marc Degaetano, and Peter Sanger.
Keney Park Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-70, 6,449-yard course.
What Happened:

After day one of the tournament, Trinity's B team sat in second place out of 14 teams with a score of 282. Bantams sophomore Aidan Monahan led the flock with a scorecard of 67, three under on the day.

The Trinity A squad followed closely in third with a 286 in round one, as sophomore Charlie Mullin carded a 68, two under for the round.

Trinity's B team finished third overall with a 16 over total, while Trinity A finished 5th overall carding 15 over on day two landing them 22 over on the weekend.

Mullin finished top five in the tournament, ending at one under (139, 68-71) after going +1 in the second round.

Monahan finished sixth in a three-way tie with Middlebury's Charlie Schulman and Hofstra's Gavin Clarke, tallying a 141, one over for the tournament. The Bantams sophomore double-bogeyed holes 8 and 12 in Sunday's round after previously birdieing both par fours in round one. Monahan finished four over on Sunday, landing him at one over for the tournament.

Thomas Chalfant and Mason Bowie both finished two over, in a four-way tie for ninth place with Tufts' Brendan Roy and Roger Williams' Will Lafrance.

Aitkenhead carded an eagle in Saturday's round on hole 14, a 513-yard par five, to bring him to just two over on the day. The first-year kept a level head with three birdies (1, 4, and 7) to offset five bogeys, finishing four over for the tournament.
Up Next:
The Bantams will travel to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. for the annual Tim Brown Invitational, hosted by Skidmore College. The first round will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11 (weather permitting), followed by an 11 a.m. start on Sunday.
