Recap courtesy of Coach MacDermott
It was a wonderful day of racing for all crews. The learning process never stops and every crew gained valuable experience from practicing our process on the racecourse this weekend. There is a lot of racing ahead and we will never lose focus on our ultimate objective, but this was a great start to Championship Racing Season.
The 4
th and 3
rd Varsity 8's had fantastic races, finishing 2
nd in both of their respective finals. The crews are young, hungry, and eager to push forward towards even faster performances in the future. Coach
Nate Clark has done fantastic work with these crews and they will continue to refine their execution in the coming week of practice.
The 2
nd Varsity executed a great race and continues to develop impressively. Winning the event was a major step in their maturation process and I am eager to see this crew continue to improve in the coming weeks. It has been a long road for many in this crew and I am proud of their long-term commitment to one another.
I loved the 1
st Varsity's execution throughout the entire weekend. They raced with poise, control, and maturity and did not let other crews impact their approach to racing. Their final 750 was strong and the crew is eager to continue to develop and gain speed in the weeks ahead.
