HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England — The Trinity College men's rowing team concluded competition at the 2026 Henley Royal Regatta on Thursday (July 2), following a pair of hard-fought races against elite international competition in the Temple Challenge Cup.

Trinity's pair and varsity four did not advance out of the qualifying rounds. The Bantams' varsity eight earned a spot in the Temple Challenge Cup and opened racing on Wednesday.

Wednesday
The Bantams' varsity eight—coxswain Alenka Doyle, Wyatt Mills (stroke), William Carroll (7), Jackson Moore (6), James McGarry (5), Brett Sandford (4), Matteo Dembinski (3), Owen Myers (2), and Jack Lambros (bow)—opened the Temple Challenge Cup with an impressive victory in the Round of 32.

Racing Drexel University in Henley's traditional side-by-side match racing format, Trinity held a narrow advantage for much of the course before pulling away over the closing stretch. The Bantams crossed the finish line in 6:20, defeating the Dragons by three-quarters of a length to advance to the Round of 16.

Thursday
Trinity returned to the water Thursday morning for a Round of 16 matchup against the University of London. The Bantams delivered another determined performance, but despite a strong effort from the entire crew and coxswain Alenka Doyle, Trinity was edged by three-quarters of a length.

The University of London posted a winning time of 6:29 to advance, while the Bantams concluded a successful Henley campaign after earning a victory on one of rowing's most prestigious stages.
