Coach MacDermott Throwing First Pitch

Men's Rowing Return to Fenway to Throw Out First Pitch Following Historic Championship Season

| By:
HARTFORD, Conn. — The Trinity College men's rowing team will take its championship celebration to one of baseball's most iconic venues on Tuesday, September 8, when the Bantams are recognized at Fenway Park for their historic 2026 season and throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Boston Red Sox game.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Kevin MacDermott, Trinity capped a historic campaign by winning its second consecutive Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRCA) Division III Varsity 8+ National Championship.
The Bantams' success extended beyond the Varsity 8, as the strength of the Second Varsity 8 helped Trinity capture the combined points championship for the first time in program history.

The historic season also brought a number of individual and team honors to the Bantams. Four Trinity rowers earned IRCA All-American recognition, while MacDermott was named IRCA Coach of the Year. The Trinity coaching staff was also honored as the Division III Staff of the Year and senior Wyatt Mills became just the second Bantam rower to receive "The Oarsman" Award, which is presented to the top athlete in Division III rowing.

The Trinity College men's rowing team looks forward to celebrating its historic season with a pregame recognition at Fenway Park and hopes that Bantam fans, friends, and family members will join the team for this special occasion.
