Duffield, Jaenicke Lead Cross Country at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Trinity College men's and women's cross country teams returned to the course Saturday at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, with the Bantam men finishing 13th overall with 392 points out of 38 teams and the women placing 12th with 319 points out of 37 teams.

Men's 8K
  • Sophomore Lysander Duffield continued his strong start to the season, leading the Bantams for the second consecutive meet. Duffield crossed the finish line 26th overall with a time of 25:24.34 in Trinity's first 8K race of the season.
  • Sophomore Nielsen Kasser was the second Bantam across the line, clocking a time of 26:26.49, followed closely by first-year Tommy Basinger in 26:28.35. First-year Douglas Smith posted a time of 26:37.57, while senior Dolan Pols rounded out Trinity's scoring five in 27:03.96.
  • Mark Kanner followed with a time of 27:07.49, while Brendan Nolan crossed in 27:27.04. Jack Blanchfield (27:44.44), Tyler Johnson (27:49.69), Alex Willard (28:43.00), Xavier Ohl (28:51.05) and Tim Hamilton (28:57.31) also competed for the Bantams.
  • Trinity finished 13th in the team standings with 392 points, recording an average scoring time of 26:24.

The Bantams return to action on October 2nd at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
