2022-23 Award Recipients
BANTAM AWARD
The Bantam Award was established in 1976 by Raymond Montgomery in the name of the Trinity class of 1925. It is presented annually to a non-student who has made a distinguished contribution to the Trinity sports program.
LARRY SILVER AWARD
This award, in memory of Lawrence Silver Class of '64, who was killed on a bombing mission in Vietnam, is given annually to a student who, by vote of the athletic department staff, has contributed most to the Trinity athletic program as a non-player.
ECAC STUDENT-ATHLETE AWARD
The Eastern College Athletic Conference "Outstanding Scholar-Athlete" award is presented annually to the senior male who is voted the most outstanding in athletics and scholarship.
SUSAN E. MARTIN AWARD
The Susan E. Martin "Outstanding Scholar-Athlete" Award is presented annually to the senior woman who has combined excellence on the fields of competition with excellence in the classroom. This prestigious award was established in 1978 and named in honor of Suzie Martin '71, who was one of the first Trinity women to compete in intercollegiate athletics.
ROBERT R. BARTLETT AWARDS
The Robert R. Bartlett Awards are presented annually to the male and female students who have combined excellence in athletics and devotion to community and/or campus service. This award was established in 1992 by Mrs. Louise Bartlett and friends in honor of the 60th anniversary of her late husband's graduation from Trinity College in 1929.Â
ANNE L. PARMENTER AWARD
The Anne L. Parmenter award is given to the Trinity College student-athlete who best promotes the culture of diversity, equity, and social justice on campus through their activism, and leadership; which Anne Parmenter engendered in her 22 years at Trinity as a beloved coach, and mentor.
TRINITY CLUB OF HARTFORD TROPHY
Endowed by the Trinity Club of Hartford, this award is comparable in every way to the McCook Trophy. The recipient is selected by vote of the same committee of faculty, staff and captains of varsity teams. The winner must be a senior woman of good scholastic standing and with distinction in athletics. Like the McCook winner, she must have shown diligence and conscientiousness in drill, training, discipline, and dependability in practice, courtesy, self-control, uprightness and honor.Â
THE GEORGE SHELDON McCOOK TROPHY
This award is a gift given by George Sheldon McCook's parents in 1902 to honor the memory of their son, Class of 1897. He was a member of the football, basketball, and baseball teams and president of his class. Following graduation, he fought in the Spanish-American war, went to Paris for post-graduate study, and died there after a short illness. The recipient is selected annually by a committee of the faculty, staff and the captains of all varsity teams. He must be a senior who exhibits diligence, conscientiousness, courtesy, self-control, and honor at all times, especially in athletic sports and contests. The winner's name is engraved on a silver bar which is attached to the trophy.

BOB HARRON AWARD
The Bob Harron Outstanding Scholar-Athlete Award was established in 1971 by a friend's memory of Bob Harron, the former Director of College Relations at Trinity. It was presented annually to the junior male who is voted most outstanding in athletics and scholarship.
BOARD OF FELLOWS AWARD
The Board of Fellows Outstanding Scholar-Athlete Award was established by the Board in 1979 and was presented to the junior woman who is voted most outstanding in athletics and scholarship.
BLANKET AWARDS (not discontinued but are now distributed at the individual team banquets)
The Blanket Award was presented to students who have earned nine or more varsity letters in three different sports. This highly coveted award goes to the truly elite of Trinity's athletes. In 70 years and 205 seasons only 110 athletes and coaches have been named - 11 of them honorary. Of the 99 earned awards, 55 have gone to men and 44 to women.
