Trinity Softball Field

Trinity Softball Field

The construction of Trinity College's natural-grass softball field gave the Bantams one of the top facilities in the Northeast.  The softball field, 200' to right and left field and 220' in center field, is a precision-graded, natural-grass field.  The grass areas are underdrained and irrigated to provide the most consistent playing surface.  The softball venue is accompanied by above-ground dugouts with two-tiered seating benches, bat and helmet cubbies and storage shelving.  An all-weather synthetic surface was installed for the new hitting cages.  The softball venue utilizes the existing bench seating on the hillside on the east side of the athletic complex currently used for the existing soccer field.  A new net/padded backstop and 6' high black vinyl chain-link fencing accompanies the new field surface to complete the venue.  The fields are tiered in elevation to blend into the natural contours of the site.  A network of lit walkways have been provided to improve flow through the athletic complex.
