AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2021-22: Scored at the NESCAC Championship Meet with a 24th-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly and as a member of Trinity's sixth-place 200-yard medley relay that also set a new Bantam record (1:31.88)...posted Trinity's fourth-fastest, all-time top time in the 50-yard butterfly (23.26) and its eighth-fastest, all-time top time in 50-yard freestyle (21.66) and 100-yard butterfly (52.05). 

BEFORE TRINITY: Posted personal-best times of 22.29 in the 50-yard freestyle, 53.49 in the 100-yard butterfly, 56.58 in the 100-yard backstroke, 1:02.61 in the 100-yard breaststroke, 49.52 in the 100-yard freestyle...swam for Cape Cod Firefish and Team Turbo in club swimming, where he broke several team records, qualified for Nationals, and served as captain......was competed in track and field team in high school.

PERSONAL: Involved in musical theater and Model United Nations in high school...received an award in high school for outstanding effort in Spanish...has been on mission trips to Germany, Czech, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary...volunteers in his local community through his church and the Green Briar Nature Center...enjoys biking, hiking, and swimming in ponds..plans on going to law school and working in government after graduation...majoring in public policy & law with a minor in film studies...son of Sean and Pamela McDermott...father swan for Southern Illinois University.

WHY I CHOSE TRINITY: I chose Trinity because of the excellent and prestigious combination of academics and athletics. As soon as I stepped on campus I knew that Trinity was where I wanted to spend my next four years training hard and pursuing higher education. Coaches Hannah Hagy and Carlos Vega welcomed me with open arms, and I knew that I would be able to make friendships and connections that would last me a lifetime.
