Trinity College

Grant Sorensen '19 begins his third season as assistant wrestling at Trinity College in 2021-22.  Sorensen was a force during his four-year wrestling career with the Bantams.  He led Trinity in individual wins as a senior, going 27-4 overall and 20-2 at 157 pounds. Sorensen was a National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Scholar All-American in 2019, and also received the Robert R. Bartlett Award from the College for his excellence in athletics and community service. He was a New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) All-Conference Second Team recipient in 2018 and 2019, and placed fourth at the 149-pound weight class in the NCAA Division III Regional Championship in 2019.

Sorensen received NEWA All-Academic honors all four years, and collected NESCAC All-Academic honors and NWCA Scholar All-American Honors three years in a row. An NCAA Division III National Championship qualifier in 2017-18, Sorensen finished his career 95-27 overall, good for third all-time in the Trinity record book. His 36 career pins also ranks third in program history, and his winning percentage of .779 places him sixth.
