Trinity College Director of Athletics
Gavin Viano is excited to announce the hiring of Angelo Bruno as Trinity Athletics' new Senior Associate Athletic Director, effective June 1, 2026.
Bruno comes to Trinity after serving as the Senior Associate Athletic Director at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts for three years. At Stonehill, Bruno served as a key member of Stonehill Athletics' senior leadership team, overseeing strategic planning and operational management during the department's successful reclassification to Division I, including external relations and marketing functions. Bruno managed the department's operating budget, collaborating with 23 varsity teams, setting strategic priorities to ensure competitiveness of athletic programs, and maintaining gender equity in accordance with Title IX.
Prior to Stonehill, Bruno was Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations at American International College in May 2021 and promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations in June 2023. He oversaw the financial operations of the athletic department, managing the department's budget and supporting 25 varsity programs and over 600 student-athletes, including Division I ice hockey, to ensure fiscal responsibility and competitiveness. Bruno helped spearhead the addition of Acrobatics & Tumbling as AIC's newest varsity sport, working closely with NCATA leadership to expand opportunities in the region.
Bruno, a certified public accountant in the state of Connecticut, brings over a decade of experience to the position, working in a variety of financial roles before pivoting into collegiate athletics. For five years, Bruno provided accounting, auditing and tax services for G.T. Reilly & Co. and Right Choice Tax Preparation Inc. From 2016-2020, he was a project manager and estimator, working with private companies and municipalities to bid and manage utility construction projects. In 2020, he attended the Fenway Sports Management University run by Fenway Sports Management and the Boston Red Sox.
Bruno was a four-year player for the Stonehill Baseball team, serving as team captain for two seasons, while earning a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Bruno was a member of the Stonehill Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Stonehill Leadership Academy, Colleges Against Cancer and the Old Colony YMCA Big Brother Program. Bruno earned the Edward E. Martin Outstanding Student-Athlete Award Winner, Jack MacCarthy Leadership Award Winner and a Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference selection. He earned his master's degree in Sports Administration from Boston College in 2021, while serving as an Athletic Facilities and Operations Graduate Assistant.
