Maya Roy enters her inaugural season as an assistant coach with the Trinity College women’s ice hockey program in 2026-27.
The former standout defenseman at Adrian College put together a decorated collegiate career with the Bulldogs, serving as an assistant captain during the 2022-23 season before being named captain for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 campaigns.
Over 118 career games, Roy totaled 122 points behind 28 goals and 94 assists, finishing sixth in Adrian program history in career points and third in career assists. During the 2024-25 season, Roy led NCAA Division III with 1.21 assists per game while setting an Adrian single-season program record with 35 assists.
Throughout Roy’s collegiate career, the defenseman was a three-time AHCA All-American, four-time NCHA All-Conference selection and earned NCHA All-Tournament Team honors in both 2024 and 2025. Roy helped Adrian reach the NCAA Quarterfinals during the 2022-23 season before advancing to the NCAA Frozen Four Semifinals in 2023-24.
In addition to success on the ice, Roy was a four-time AHCA All-American Scholar. Roy graduated from Adrian in 2024 with a double major in Marketing and Leadership before earning a master’s degree in Sports Management in 2025.
Following a decorated career at Adrian, Roy continued playing professionally, spending the 2025-26 season in Germany with ERC Ingolstadt Frauen of the DFEL.
