Takashi Gould enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Trinity College men's and women's cross country and track & field programs in the upcoming 2023-24 seasons. Gould, who brings over a decade of coaching experience to the staff, will work closely with cross country and the Trinity distance runners.
For the last two seasons, Gould spent time at the University of Massachusetts, where he assisted with the men's and women's track & field teams. Gould worked the first season as the volunteer assistant coach before rising to the director of operations for the Minutemen track & field programs. Gould helped bring notoriety to UMass with 19 individual scorers across the Atlantic Ten Outdoor and Indoor Championships in 2021 and 2022.
Gould began his high school coaching career in 2011 and most recently was the head coach for the DeWitt High School girl's track and field team in Michigan in the spring of 2020. There he coached 2021 Cross Country Big Ten Freshman of the Year Kaitlyn Hynes, who currently runs for Michigan State University. Gould graduated from Eastern Michigan University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Japanese Language and Culture and ran cross country and track.
