Williamstown, Mass. - Sophomore forward Robyn Williams
(Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) scored both of the game's goals to
lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 2-0 win over the
Williams College Ephs in New England Small College Athletic
Conference (NESCAC) field hockey action this afternoon.
Trinity, ranked No. 16 in the nation, improves to 8-0 overall
and 4-0 in the NESCAC, while the Ephs fall to 4-4 overall and 1-2
in the league. The Bantams are off to their best record since
1998.
Robyn Williams scored on the first Bantam shot of the game
midway through the first period and Trinity held the Ephs to just a
single shot over the opening 35 minutes. Robyn Williams again
near the end of the second period on a rebound. Trinity
freshman goalie Gina DiNallo (West Hartford,
Conn.) recorded a shutout with three saves and Eph goalie
Katrina Tulla (New Canaan, Conn.) had five saves.
