Hartford, Conn. - Junior Molly Ullman (Studio
City, Calif.) had 28 kills and 16 digs on the day to lead
the Trinity College Bantams to wins over the Johnson and Wales
University Wildcats and the Emerson College Lions in volleyball
action at Ray Oosting Gymnasium. Johnson and Wales defeated
Emerson in five games to round out the tri-match. The Bantams
improve to 7-5 overall with the wins, the Lions move to 7-6, and
the Wildcats are now 7-9 on the year.
Trinity started off with a 25-23 loss in Game 1 to Johnson and
Wales, but won the next three games to take the match, 3-1.
Sophomore Amanda Poole (Summit, N.J.) had ten
kills and ten digs for the Bantams and added another ten kills and
eight digs in a 3-0 win later in the afternoon against Emerson.
After Emerson jumped ahead of Johnson and Wales by winning the
first game of their match, 25-14, Emerson mounted a comeback,
pushing the match to a decisive fifth game. Emerson pulled
out Game 4 by a score of 27-25, but fell short in Game 5, dropping
the game and match to the Wildcats.
The Bantams return to action on Wed., Oct. 1 when they will take
on NESCAC rival Connecticut College.
