Springfield, Mass. - Senior midfielder Lindsey
Waddington (Granby, Conn.) had a goal and an assist to
lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 3-0 win over the
Springfield College Pride in field hockey action this
evening. Trinity, ranked No. 4 in the nation, remains
perfect on the season with its 12th straight win, while Springfield
falls to 7-8 overall.
The Pride outshot the Bantams, 6-2, and collecting six penalty
corners to Trinity's one in the first half but failed to score, and
Trinity gained the momentum in the second half. Finally
breaking the ice 44:56 into the game, Waddington scored
from junior midfielder Robyn Williams (Bulawayo,
Zimbabwe). The second goal was the first in the
collegiate career by freshman midfielder Hadley Duncan
(Rye, N.Y.), with the assist provided by Waddington and
17:21 remaining in the contest. The game's final tally was
scored by junior forward Christy Bradley (Wellesley,
Mass.), with freshman forward Alanna Capasso
(Weston, Mass.) being credited with the assist just over
five minutes later.
Sophomore Gina Dinallo (West Hartford, Conn.)
registered eight saves and the shutout for Trinity. For
Springfield, freshman Anna Calano (Columbia,
Conn.) had five saves, including four in the second half.
