Williamstown, Mass. - Sophomore Gina Dinallo (West
Hartford, Conn.) made 17 saves in goal to lead the
visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 2-1 victory over the Williams
College Ephs in New England Small College Athletic Conference
(NESCAC) field hockey action this evening. Trinity, ranked
No. 6 in the nation, improves to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the NESCAC,
while the Ephs fall to 4-4 overall and 4-1 in the league.
Trinity opened up a 1-0 lead at the half on a goal by sophomore
back Payson Sword (Princeton Junction, N.J.) and
extended its advantage to 2-0 on an early-second-half tally by
senior co-captain forward Carrie Wolcott (Hamilton,
Mass.). Williams senior tri-captain forward
Whitney Thayer (Lancaster, Pa.) cut the lead to a
goal with 18:29 remaining, but the Trinity defense held the Ephs
scoreless the rest of the way. Williams junior goalie
Katrina Tulla (New Canaan, Conn.) had three stops.
