Hartford, Conn. - Senior Chris Wood (Medford,
Mass.) tallied a hat trick to lead the Babson College
Beavers over the Trinity College Bantams 3-0 in men's ice hockey
action at Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center this
afternoon. Trinity falls to 3-2-1 on the season, while Babson
improves to 6-2-1.
The game went scoreless into the second period, until Babson
sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Peabody (Marblehead,
Mass.) got all the offense he would need on Wood's first
goal of the game, which came midway through the period.
Peabody finished the game with 18 saves, earning his second shutout
of the season, making him just one of two goalies since Jan. 21,
2006 to blank the Bantams offense.
Junior goaltender Wesley Vesprini (Lexington,
Mass.) made 33 stops in the game, giving him 68 saves in
his last two games.
Trinity travels to Westfield State on Fri. Dec. 11 for a 7:30
p.m. match with the Owls.
