Waterville, Maine - Sophomore forward Adam Houli (Howell, N.J.)
and junior forward Richard Hollstein (Pembroke, Mass.) both had two
goals as the visiting Trinity College Bantam men's ice hockey team
scored the only two goals in the third period to pull away for a
5-2 win over the Colby College Mules this eveningat Alfond
Rink. Trinity moves to 14-6 overall and 11-5 in the New
England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), while Colby
falls to 5-13-3 overall and 3-11-2 in league play.
Houli scored just 2:15 into the game on the power play to put
Trinity up for good. Hollstein added his first goal at 9:46 of the
period for a 2-0 lead at the first intermission. Hollstein
added another quick score at the start of the second period on a
shorthanded goal at 2:55 from Joe Tierney (Reading,
Mass.) who had two assists in the game. Colby fought
back and made it a 3-2 game after two periods. Jeoff Jarnot
(Concord, N.H.) tallied at 12:43 and then Billy
Crinnion (Smithtown, N.Y.) scored with 59 seconds left in
the period. The teams battled for more than 11 minutes with a
one-goal game in the third period. Houli put the Bantams back up by
two goals at 11:24 and Ryan Masucci (Winthrop,
Mass.) added the final goal with 1:27 to play.
Wesley Vesprini (Lexington, Mass.) stopped 22
shots in goal for the Bantams, while Cody McKinney (Weston,
Fla.) made 27 saves for Colby.
