Lewiston, Maine - The Trinity Collee Bantam volleyball team
handed the Bates College Bobcats their first loss of the season,
3-0, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)
match at Alumni Gymnasium this evening. In the conference
opener for both teams, the Bantams improve to 4-2 and Bobcats
fall to 4-1. Trinity took three straight sets, 25-17, 25-16,
25-21). Both teams will be back in league action tomorrow at
Bates. The Bobcats will host Amherst at 11 a.m., while Trinity will
play Colby at 1:30 p.m.
Leading the way for Trinity was first-year Danielle
Isaman (West Hartford, Conn.) with 15 kills. Junior
Kristen Anderson (West Haven, Conn.) served up
four aces and dished out 13 assists. Sophomore Alexandra
Pell (San Diego, Calif.) tallied 17 digs. Sophomore
Kelly O'Brien (Pelham, N.Y.) provided three solo
blocks and classmate Jen Low (San Francisco,
Calif.) provided 19 assists. Bates sophomore
Grace Haessler (Portland, Oregon)
led the Bobcats with 23 assists. Sophomore Olivia
Schow (Costa Mesa, Calif.) chipped in
with seven kills and four aces, while senior Tess
Dokus (Fairpoint, N.Y.) contributed eight
kills and three digs.
