Trinity Field Hockey Earns Second Straight Win over Nationally Ranked Opponent

Bantams Cruise to Perfect 5-0 Record

Hartford, Conn. - First-year midfielder Michele Williams (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) scored two goals, the second and third of her career, to lead the No. 10-ranked Trinity College Bantams to a 2-0 win over the No. 20-ranked Keene State College Owls in women's field hockey action on Robin Sheppard Field tonight.  The win for Trinity marks their second consecutive victory over a nationally ranked opponent this season, coming off a 2-0 win over then No. 11-ranked Middlebury College.  The Bantams run their record to a perfect 5-0 while the Owls fall to 6-2 on the season.

Williams scored within the first eight minutes of the game and added another in the 19th minute to give the Bantams an early 2-0 lead.  The stingy Trinity defense did not allow Keene back into the game, allowing just four shots, all stopped by sophomore goalkeeper Gina Dinallo (West Hartford, Conn.), who collected her second straight shutout.  DiNallo has allowed just five goals in five games this season.

Keene State senior goalkeeper Vikki Stoessel (Berry, N.H.) was put to work all night, but came up with 16 saves to highlight the statistical page for both sides.

Trinity will visit NESCAC rival Bates on Sat., Sept. 26 at 2 p.m.
