Lewiston, Maine - Sophomore Gina Dinallo (West Hartford,
Conn.) made six saves and earned a shutout in goal, as the
visiting Trinity College Bantams posted a 3-0 win over the Bates
College Bobcats in New England Small College Athletic Conference
(NESCAC) field hockey action this afternoon. Trinity, ranked
No. 10 in the nation, imrpoves to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the
NESCAC, while the Bobcats fall to 1-5 overall and 0-4 in the
league.
The game was scoreless for 25 minutes before Bantam
freshman forward Alanna Capasso (Weston, Mass.)
scored in the first half on a penalty corner to put the
Bantams ahead 1-0 going into halftime. The Bantams opened the lead
up to 2-0 4:40 into the second half, when senior co-captain
Carrie Wolcott (Hamilton, Mass.) scored on a
rebound after a nice save by Bates goalie Katie McEnroe.
Trinity junior forward Christy Bradley (Wellesley,
Mass.) made it 3-0 with an insurance goal in the 49th
minute of the game. Trinity outshot Bates by a 22-11 margin,
forcing McEnroe to make 17 saves.
