Newton, Mass. - The visiting Trinity College Bantam women's
basketball team triumphed, 87-60, against the Lasell College Lasers
in women's basketball action this evening.  Trinity improves
to 14-2 with its 10th consecutive victory, while Lasell falls to
4-11.
The Bantams were led by sophomore guard Michelle Royals
(Torrington, Conn.) who put up a team-best 14 points,
while senior guard Tess Donie (Worcester, Mass.)
ended with eleven points, two assists and two steals, and senior
tri-captain center Christine Card (Waterbury,
Conn.) finished with nine points and eight boards. 
The Lasers were led by junior guard Katie Farr (Rindge,
N.H.) who tallied a game-high 19 points.  Kim
Archibald (Lewiston, Maine) finished the contest with
eleven points and six rebounds for Lasell.
Trinity took an immediate lead when Donie nailed a jumper off
the initial possession of the game. The visitors went up by nine
before Farr drilled her first of  four total three-pointers
for Lasell.  Reegan Brackett (Scarborough,
Maine) followed up by pulling up for a short mid-key
jumper in the Lasers' next possession and Archibalddropped in a
baseline hook shot with 13:26 left to get Lasell within four points
of the Bantams.  Donie began another run for the Bantoms with
a turn-around jumper in the paint. Royals followed up by converting
the following seven points to give Trinity a 14 point
advantage.Though the Lasers held a 44%-39% edge in shooting
percentage for the half, the Bantams came up with a 15 point lead
at the break, 42-27.
Lasell continued to shoot on target in the second half with a 54.5%
shooting percentage, and shooting 83.3% from beyond the arc, but
the Bantams dominated the boards, 47-26, getting second and third
chance shots to  lengthen the gap in score between the teams.
Freshman guard Brittany Huffman (West Hartford,
Conn.) scored eight points to lead Trinity in the second
half.
