Trinity Volleyball Falls Short Of Upset Against Tufts, Blanked By Bowdoin

Middletown, Conn. – Junior tri-captain L Sarah Blagden (Charleston, S.C.) totaled 56 digs and freshman OH Hannah Brickley (Melrose, Mass.) added 22 kills and 29 digs over two matches, although the Trinity College Bantams lost, 3-2, against the Tufts University Jumbos and, 3-0, against the Bowdoin College Polar Bears in a pair of New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) volleyball matches this afternoon at Wesleyan University.  Trinity, ranked No. 7 in New England, falls to 9-4 overall and 1-3 in the NESCAC. 

Against Tufts, ranked No. 1 in New England and No. 25 in the nation, Trinity took the first set, 26-24, but were outscored, 25-11, in the next, before the Jumbos edged the Bantams, 27-25, in the third set.  Trinity rallied to take the fourth set, 25-17, but lost in the fifth set, 15-11.  Bowdoin won a close first set, 26-24, against Trinity, before winning the second, 25-17, and the third, 25-21.
