Hartford, Conn. – Senior co-captain Robyn Williams
(Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) continued her hot streak with two
goals and an assist to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 4-0
victory over the Springfield College Pride in women's field
hockey action on Robin Sheppard Field this evening.
Trinity improves to 8-4 overall, while the Pride drop to 8-7 on the
year.
Junior Payson Sword (Princeton, N.J.) scored
less than ten minutes into the game - the first of three Trinity
goals in the first half – as the Bantams would go on to win
their fifth straight contest. Sword finished the game with a
goal and an assist, while senior co-captain Christy Bradley
(Wellesley, Mass.) would net her team-high tenth goal of
the season in the win.
Trinity junior goalkeeper Gina Dinallo (West
Hartford, Conn.) needed just one stop to earn her second
shutout of the season, as the Bantams outshot the Pride 11-3 in the
win. Springfield junior goalkeeper Alison McCarthy
(North Andover, Mass.) made seven stops for the
Pride.
Trinity will visit undefeated NESCAC rival Bowdoin, ranked No. 1
in the New England West region and No. 5 nationally, on Oct. 23 at
2 p.m.
