Trinity Field Hockey Cruises to Win over Springfield

Hartford, Conn. – Senior co-captain Robyn Williams (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) continued her hot streak with two goals and an assist to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 4-0 victory over the Springfield College Pride in women's field hockey action on Robin Sheppard Field this evening.  Trinity improves to 8-4 overall, while the Pride drop to 8-7 on the year.

Junior Payson Sword (Princeton, N.J.) scored less than ten minutes into the game - the first of three Trinity goals in the first half – as the Bantams would go on to win their fifth straight contest.  Sword finished the game with a goal and an assist, while senior co-captain Christy Bradley (Wellesley, Mass.) would net her team-high tenth goal of the season in the win.

Trinity junior goalkeeper Gina Dinallo (West Hartford, Conn.) needed just one stop to earn her second shutout of the season, as the Bantams outshot the Pride 11-3 in the win.  Springfield junior goalkeeper Alison McCarthy (North Andover, Mass.) made seven stops for the Pride.

Trinity will visit undefeated NESCAC rival Bowdoin, ranked No. 1 in the New England West region and No. 5 nationally, on Oct. 23 at 2 p.m.
