Box Score Hartford, Conn. – Junior forward Hadley Duncan (Rye, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal from junior forward Alanna Capasso (Weston, Mass.) in the second half and senior tri-captain Gina Dinallo (West Hartford, Conn.) made eight saves in the cage to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Hamilton College Continentals in the season opener for both teams this afternoon on Sheppard Field. Trinity, ranked No. 19 in the nation, wins its fourth straight season opener. Hamilton, ranked No. 17 nationally, drops its first-ever game as a field-hockey-playing member of the NESCAC.
Trinity senior forward Caroline Snite (Philadelphia, Pa.) opened the scoring 12:20 into the game on a rebound of her own shot that was initially saved by Hamilton freshman goalkeeper Victoria Trentini (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.). The Continentals answered 10:02 later on a goal from Sarah Flisnik (Marcy, N.Y.) to Nikki Haskins (Quincy, Mass.) to knot the score entering the break. Duncan netted he clincher in transition with 11:42 left in the game. Trentini finished with five saves, as Hamilton outshot Trinity, 11-7, including, 6-3, in the first half.
