Trinity Field Hockey Edges Williams

Williamston, Mass. - The visiting Trinity College Bantams defeated the Williams College Ephs in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) field hockey action this afternoon at Lamb Field.  Trinity, ranked No. 15 in the nation, improves to 2-1 overall and in the NESCAC, while the Ephs fall to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the league. 

Junior forward Alanna Capasso (Weston, Mass.) scored the game's only goal 49:32 into the competition.  The Bantams maintained offensive possession of the ball nearly the entire first half with an 11-2 edge in shots and a 7-to-1 edge on penalty corners. Williams sophomore goalie Ariana Spiliotes (Bethesda, Md.) kept it scoreless with five saves, while Bantam senior captain Gina Dinallo (West Hartford, Conn.) returned the favor with some early second-half stops.  Capasso picked up a momentarily loose ball in traffic and made good on her shot attempt with the game-winner.  Dinallo finished with five saves, and Spiliotes tallied eight saves.
