Box Score Hartford, Conn. – Junior midfielder Haley Thompson (Ipswich, Mass.) had one goal and one assist to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 2-0 victory over the Keene State College Owls on Sheppard Field this evening. Trinity, ranked No. 15 in the nation, improves to 4-1 with their third consecutive victory, while the Owls drop to 5-2 with their first loss in four games.
Thompson scored the game's first goal off a penalty corner from sophomore Sarah Duncan (Dedham, Mass.) and junior forward Alanna Capasso (Weston, Mass.) 20:21 into the game. Trinity converted on another penalty corner with 16 seconds left before halftime, as sophomore forward Paige Duke (Dedham, Mass.) scored from Thompson to give Trinity a 2-0 lead that held for the entire second half. Bantam senior captain goalkeeper Gina Dinallo (West Hartford, Conn.) made five saves to record a shutout, while rookie backstop Caitlin Davino-Draper (Hanover, Mass.) had six saves. Trinity outshot the Owls, 14-6, and held a 10-to-5 edge on penalty corners. Owl sophomore back Justine Hunnewell (Lebanon, N.H.) added a defensive save.
