Box Score Hartford, Conn. – Trinity junior Jordan So
(Toronto, Ontario) scored two goals, as the Trinity
College Bantams skated to a 3-3 overtime tie with the Hamilton
College Continentals in New England Small College Athletic
Conference (NESCAC) men's ice hockey action this afternoon on
Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center. The
Bantams move to 7-7-2 overall and 4-5-2 in the NESCAC with the tie,
while Hamilton moves to 7-8-2 overall and 3-7-1 in the league.
So scored his first goal midway through the first period, before
Hamilton responded just 26 tics later, with a goal by senior
Bryan Kelly (Plymouth, Mass.). Hamilton took
control of the game in the second period, gaining a 3-1 advantage,
on goals by sophomore Michael DiMare (Medford,
Mass.) and freshman Joe Rausch (Ardsley,
N.Y.).
Trinity fought back in the third, started by So, who netted his
second of the night, just :46 seconds into the third frame.
Just over a minute later, junior Jeffrey Menard
(Burlington, Mass.) scored his team-leading eleventh goal
of the year to tie the game at 3-3.
Strong defensive play on both ends limited the scoring chances
for both teams for the remainder of regulation and overtime.
Trinity sophomore goalkeeper Ben Coulthard (South Windsor,
Conn.) made 38 saves for the Bantams, while Hamilton
sophomore goalkeeper Joe Quattrocchi (Kanata,
Ontario) made 27 saves in the net for the
Continentals.
