Box Score Paxton, Mass. - Senior tri-captain guard Michelle Royals (Torrington, Conn.) led all scorers with 18 points, scoring her 1,000th career point in the process, and added six rebounds, six assists, and six steals to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to an 80-35 victory over the Anna Maria College Amcats in women's basketball action this evening at the Fuller Center. Trinity improves to 7-10 with its firts win in five games, while Anna Maria drops to 5-15.
Trinity opened the game on 16-1 run and never looked back. Royals scored her 1,000 point for the Bantams in the second half on a three-pointer from the left wing, making her the ninth Trinity woman to reach the 1,000-point plateau. She has 1,007 points in her career to date.
Trinity held a 52% to 21% shooting percentage over the AMCATS. They also held the advantage in rebounds 45-30 and steals 20-7. Anna Maria was led by junior Alison McCarthy (Lynn, Mass.) and Mary Moroski (Worcester, Mass.), as McCarthy had a team high 11 points and four rebounds, while Moroski grabbed eight rebounds. Joining Royals in double-digits for Trinity was junior guard Carly Napier (Pittsford, N.Y.) with 15 points, sophomore forward Moriah Sweeney (Ramsey, N.J.) with 11 points, Carly Napier (Pittsford, NY) , and sophomore forward Taylor Murtaugh (New York, N.Y.) with 10 points.
