Hartford, Conn. – Sophomore Regan Cherna (Bronxville, N.Y.) won in straight sets at No. 2 singles and teame with classmate Elizabeth Gerber (Bethesda, Md.) for an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles to lead the Trinity College Bantams past the visiting Colby College Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's tennis action this afternoon. Trinity improves to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the NESCAC with a 7-2 triumph, while Colby drops to 8-5 overall and 0-2 in the league with its second loss in as many days.
Trinity led, 2-1, after doubles play as senior captain Kelsey Semrod (Princeton, N.J.) and junior Frances Cameron (Mill Valley, Calif.) won, 8-2, at the No. 2 spot. The Bantams won five of the six singles matches, including a dominant, 6-1, 6-3 performance by Semrod at the No. 3 spot.
