Williamstown, Mass. - The No. 6-seeded Trinity College Bantams
fell, 6-0, against the No. 3-seeded Middlebury College Panthers in
the opening round of the New England Small College Athletic
Conference (NESCAC) Women's Tennis Championship Tournament this
afternoon at Williams College. Middlebury, ranked No. 4 in
the nation, improves to 14-2, while No. 19-ranked Trinity's
season ends at 10-6.
Middlebury's Katie Paradies (Atlanta, Ga.) and Lok-Sze Leung
(Hong Kong) simultaneously won their matches to give
Middlebury the win. (14-2) to defeat No. 6 Trinity (10-6) 6-0
in today's NESCAC Semi-Finals. Paradies beat Caroline Gagne
(Excelsior, MN) 6-0, 6-1, while Leung defeated Hillary Hoyt (New
York, NY) 6-0, 6-2 to score the match-winning points.
Trinity's sophomore No. 3 doubles duo of Caroline Gagne
(Excelsior, Minn.) and Elizabeth Gerber (Bethesda, Md.) played the
closest match, losing, 8-4.
