Amherst, Mass. - The visiting Trinity College Bantams suffered a
3-1 loss against the Amherst College Lord Jeffs in New England
Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) volleyball action this
evening at LeFrak Gymnasium. Trinity falls to 5-3 overall and
1-2 in the NESCAC with its third setback in a row, while Amherst
improves to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the league.
Trailing, 1-0, after dropping the opening set, 25-21, Trinity
took the second set in impressive fashion, 25-16. The Lord
Jeffs rallied to edge Trinity, 25-22, in the third set before
taking the clinching fourth set, 25-18.
First-year MH Kate Giddens (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) and
junior co-captain Hannah Brickley (Melrose, Mass.) combined for 27
kills and 24 digs, while senior co-captain Dani Isaman (West
Hartford, Conn.) added nine kills, three aces, and eight digs, and
junior S Amy Hackett (Wallingford, Conn.) notched 24 assists for
the Bantams.
