Box Score Biddeford, Maine - First-year forward Cheeky Herr (Princeton, N.J.) scored three goals to lead the visiting Trinity College women's ice hockey team to a 10-0 shutout of the University of New England Nor'easters this evening at the Harold Alfond Forum. The win snapped a four-game winless streak for the Bantams, who evened their record at 4-4-3. New England dropped to 1-7. The teams will play again tomorrow night in Hartford.
Sophomore forward Lucy Robinson (Toronto, Ontario) had two goals and two assists for Trinity, which received one goal and two assists apiece from junior forward Abby Ostrom (Carlisle, Mass.) and first-years Elizabeth Caporale (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Emma Tani (Orange, Calif.). Trinity rookie Brooke Heron (South Salem, N.Y.) notched a pair of helpers.
Trinity put the game out of reach early, scoring four times over the opening 15 minutes. The Bantams would go on to tally three goals in both the second and third periods. For the game, Trinity held a commanding 42-5 advantage in shots on goal and were not cited for a penalty.
Trinity junior goaltender Alexa Pujol (New Cannan, Conn.) played the first frame in goal and recorded one save, before she was relieved by senior Beth Hitchcock (Glencoe, Ill.) who stopped four shots. First-years Samantha Scobee (Minnetrista, Minn.) and Courtney Kendall and junior Kristi Holt (Willington, Conn.) combined to make 32 stops for the Nor'easters.
