Box Score Brunswick, Maine - The visiting Trinity College Bantams fell
victim to a 3-0 setback against the Bowdoin College Polar Bears in
a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) volleyball
match this afternoon at Morrell Gymnasium. Trinity falls to
13-8 overall and 4-4 in the NESCAC with its first loss in three
matches, while Bowdoin, ranked No. 5 in New England, improves to
18-4 overall and 7-1 in the league with its 12th consecutive
victory. Bowdoin won by set scores of 25-18, 25-22,
25-18.
Senior tri-captain Hannah Brickley (Melrose, M ass.) and
sophomore Kate Giddens (South Weymouth, Mass.) each had nine kills
and 10 digs to lead the Bantams. Sophomore S Gina Buzzelli
(Cheshire, Conn.) had 12 assists in the loss for Trinity. A
balanced Bowdoin attack saw senior Ellie Brennan lead the team with
eight kills. Christy Jewett had six kills and 11 digs while Katie
Doherty added six kills and three aces. Sophia Cornew pitched in 30
assists while Taylor Vail had 17 digs.
