Trinity Men's Ice Hockey Comes Back To Win At Hamilton

Clinton, N.Y. - First-year forward Sean Orlando (Ivyland, Pa.) scored twice, including the game-winner 7:56 into the third period, to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 4-2 victory over the Hamilton College Continentals in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's ice hockey action this afternoon at Russell Sage Rink.  Trinity improves to 3-1 overall and in the NESCAC, while Hamilton drops to 1-3 overall and in the league.

The Bantams took the lead for good on Orlando's second tally and sealed the win when freshman forward Ryan Cole (Anchorage, Alaska) scored with 57 seconds remaining.  The Continentals had taken a 2-1 lead into the final period, erasing Trinity's 1-0 second period lead with a pair of late goals.  Robbie Murden tied the score at 1-1 11:08 into the second and Michael DiMare notched a power-play goal 5:22 later to give Hamilton its first lead.  Murden's goal came on a rebound after his initial shot was blocked by Trinity junior captain defenseman Michael Flynn (Cheshire, Conn.).

Trinity senior Benjamin Coulthard (South Windsor, Conn.) made 29 saves, including five during Hamilton's three third-period power-play opportunities with the Bantams holding a one-goal lead.  Sophomore defenseman Ben Hjalmarsson (Lidingo, Sweden) scored his first goal of the season to start Trinity's rally, knotting the game at 2-2 2:41 into the third.  Orlando's short-handed game winner was assisted by senior captain forward Will Gray (Wellesley, Mass.), who stole the puck from a Continental to create a breakaway. Junior forward Jackson Brewer (Newton, Mass.) and sophomore forward Michael Hawkrigg (Toronto, Ontario) assisted on Cole's insurance goal. Hawkrigg's assist was his team-best sixth.  Joe Quattrocchi '14 made 21 saves for the Continentals, including a skate save to deny Orlando on a four-on-two break late in the scoreless first period.
