Dolan (Westford, Mass.) had 19 kills and 11 digs to lead
the Endicott College Gulls to a 3-1 victory over the visiting
Trinity College Bantams in volleyball action this evening at
MacDonald Gymnasium.  Trinity falls to 2-2, losing its first
road opener, while the Gulls stop a three-match losing streak and
improve to 2-5.
Endicott outscored Trinity, 6-2, to close the
first set, 25-23, after Trinity had tied the score at 21-21 on a
kill by senior tri-captain OH Hannah Brickley (Melrose,
Mass.). Gull sophomore MH Mackenzie Guerre
(Carlsbad, Calif.) killed the final three points of the
set.  Trinity returned the favor in the second set, scoring
four straight points to snap an 18-18 tie on its way to a 25-20
win.  Brickley scored three of Trinity's last seven
points on kills in the second set.  In another close set, the
Gulls closed the third with three straight points after a 22-22
tie, and used a 15-4 run to close out the match with a 25-14
triumph in the fourth set.
Brickley paced the Trinity offense with 19
kills against just three errors for .296 hitting percentage, and
added 14 digs and a pair of blocks.  First-year S
Randi Whitham (South Weymouth, Mass.) notched 40
assists and 11 digs, while fellow rookie Kristen Cooprider
(Hopkinton, Mass.) recorded 14 digs and the only two
Bantam aces, and sophomore RS Hunter Drews (Clifton Park,
N.Y.) added seven kills in eight tries and seven
digs.  Freshman OH Tori McIntyre (San Diego,
Calif.) had 16 kills, three aces, 12 digs, and two blocks,
while sophomore Alleigh VandeMerkt (Riverside,
Ill.) registered a match-high 48 assists to go with 18
digs and two blocks, and Guerre finished with 11 kills and six
blocks for Endicott.
