Box Score Medford, Mass. - Dakota Sikes-Keilp (Montclair, N.J.) scored the
game-winner in the second half to lift the Tufts University Jumbos
over the visiting Trinity College Bantams, 1-0, in New England
Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) field hockey
action this afternoon on Bello Field. Trinity falls
to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the NESCAC with its first loss in three
games, while the No. 2-ranked Jumbos improve to 6-1 overall and 4-1
in the league.
The teams played a back-and-forth scoreless first half, but the
clincher came at the 44:51 mark when Sikes-Keilp's shot off a
corner from sophomore Alexandra Jamison (Gaithersburg, Md.) found
the back of the cage. The Bantams kept up the pressure with
two second half corners, but junior Brianna Keenan (Greenland,
N.H.) preserved the shutout for the Jumbos with four saves.
Sophomore Sophie Fitzpatrick (Duxbury, Mass.) was impressive in
goal for the Bantams with nine stops.
