Trinity Field Hockey Blanks Bates

Lewiston, Maine - The Visiting Trinity College Bantams blanked the Bates College Bobcats, 2-0, in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) field hockey action this afternoon on Campus Avenue Field.  Trinity improves to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the NESCAC, while Bates falls to 1-6 overall and 0-5 in the league.  Trinity plays at No. 2-ranked Tufts tomorrow at noon.

First-year midfielder Sidney Doolittle (Milford, Conn.) opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 13th minute and senior forward Paige Duke (dedham, Mass.) added an insurance tally at the 51:26 mark.  Trinity sophomore goalie Sophie Fitzpatrick (Duxbury, Mass.) made seven saves in the shutout to improve to 2-0 on the year while Bates senior goalie Becca Otley (Cumberland, Maine) stopped seven shots.
