Williamstown, Mass. - The visiting Trinity College Bantams handed the Williams College Ephs a 38-0 loss, tying for the most-lopsided Bantam win in the 73-game history of the series, in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) football action this afternoon.  Trinity, ranked No. 5 in New England, improves to 2-0 with their fourth straight win against the Ephs and becomes the first team to win at Williams' Farley-Lamb Field.  The Ephs, ranked No. 10 in New England, drop to 1-1.  Trinity had last beaten Williams, 38-0, in 1954 and also did so in 1915.

Trinity put the game away early, scoring on its first four possessions and its first of the second half. Senior RB Chudi Iregbulem (Torrance, Calif.), who tied a Trinity record with four touchdowns, after scoring three times in a 32-7 win against Colby last weekend, got things started with a two-yard scoring scamper 3:52 into the game.  After the Trinity defense stopped Williams just short of the first down on 3rd-and-4 near the middle of the field thanks to a tackle on Williams junior QB Austin Lommen by junior DE Lyle Baker (Andover, Mass.), a 33-yard punt return by sophomore Gus Ackley (Columbus, Ohio) gave the Bantams excellent field position at the Eph 48-yard line.  Bantam junior QB Henry Foye (Madison, Conn.) found Iregbulem streaking down the left sideline for a 24-yard touchdown pass four plays later for a 14-0 Trinity lead with 7:54 left in the opening stanza.

Trinity nearly scored its third touchdown of the first quarter, after a 29-yard drive that included 12 running plays and zero passes, but a Bantam penalty on 4th-and-goal at the Eph one-yard line forced the visitors to settle for a 23-yard field goal by sophomore K Ben Rosenblatt (Newton Center, Mass.). Trinity stopped Williams on downs in their own end, and Foye connected with senior WR Chris Ragone (Sarasota, Fla.) and junior WR Ian Dugger (West Hartford, Conn.) on a pair of key passes before Iregbulem scored from two yards away to give the Bantams a 24-0 lead with 4:50 left before the break.  Trinity sophomore DB Spencer Donahue (Naperville, Ill.) picked off an overthrown ball by Lommen minutes later, but Foye's 30-yard scoring strike to classmate Ian Dugger (West Hartford, Conn.) on 4th-and-9 was nullified when an official called Foye for crossing the line of scrimmage before releasing the ball.

Leading, 24-0, at the break, Trinity stopped the Ephs to start the second half, and Iregbulem scored from 13 yards out off the left tackle on the ensuing Bantam possession.  Trinity continued to dominate play throughout the second half, keeping Williams outside the Bantam 30-yard line the whole day and scoring its final touchdown on a one-yard run by first-year RB Ethan Suraci (North Haven, Conn.).  Iregbulem finished with 83 rushing yards on 16 carries, while Ackley added 54 yards on six carries, and Foye was 11-for-17 passing for 145 yards including four throws to Dugger for 41 yards.  Senior OLB Tom Szymanski (Dracut, Mass.) paced the Trinity defense with seven tackles, while classmate Will Herbert (Winchester, Mass.) added five hits and a tackle for loss.  James O'Grady had eight tackles and a tackle for loss for the Ephs.
